Blanket 4 Kids

Blankets for KidsThis program provides no-sew blankets to children of suspected child abuse at Kids-TALK CAC or other agencies. Community groups or individuals are organized to make the blankets.  Awareness and information about child abuse is provided through presentations and distribution of printed materials to group and individuals.  Contact us for more information.

Diaper Drive

DIAPER-DRIVE-Program

In collaboration with Great Start Wayne County, this program collects diapers for families in need.  Advertisement of the program and collection of diapers at selected community sites and workplaces is provided by Child's Hope.   Contact us for more information.

 

 

  

My Body Is Mine

Education (October - May)

 

my body is minePresenters go out to schools to facilitate this sexual abuse prevention workshop that combines song, dance, and a story to teach 3-5 year old children about inappropriate touching.  The children learn that they have the right not to be inappropriately touched and the importance of telling a trusted adult. Read To Me

read to me programPreschool and kindergarten children who are at risk are provided literacy opportunities through weekly tutoring by university student mentors.  Children, individually or in small groups, are involved in planned literacy lessons once or twice a week in their classrooms.  Fun and educational family events are offered to extend the literacy experience to parents and children. Mandated Reporter Training

Summit

Child's Hope in collaboration with Wayne County Great Start, University of Michigan-Dearborn, and Save Our Children Coalition will hold its biannual summit focusing on supporting children and families. This year's conference, " Harvesting Hope: Safe Children Through Community Action" will be held on September 30, 2016.
