WHAT TO DO WHEN A BABY CRIES
One of the hardest things for parents to deal with is a crying baby. Most babies have a fussy period towards the end of the day, until they are about four months old. When you first hear the baby cry, check to make sure his or her basic needs are met.
Does the diaper need changing? Are they hungry?
Some babies seem to console themselves and stop crying quickly. Other babies may cry a lot. This may be exhausting for the baby and frustrating for the parent. There are some things that may help. Start with the simplest things and move on to other techniques as necessary.

Back to About Us
How can I get involved?
Child's Hope continually strives to educate the community about child abuse and neglect prevention practices. The following are campaigns we run to provide parents and families with important information about preventing child abuse.
COMMUNITY DIAPER DRIVE
Child's Hope continually collects diapers to distribute to diapers banks and other organizations throughout Wayne County. Many families are struggling in these hard econmic times to provide the number of diapers needed to their child. Concequently children are sitting in the same diaper throughout the day. This can lead to excessive crying, and increased cases of child abuse. Something as small as a pack of diapers can help in preventing increased cases of abuse and neglect. If you would like to participate, you can either collect diapers in your community, or inidivually drop them off at the Child's Hope office. Thank you for your support!
LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAVE
Look Before You Leave is our initiative to remind parents and caregivers to never leave a child unattended in a car, even for a moment. You can help by spreading the message to look before you leave a vehicle. If you ever witness a child unattended in a vehicle, please contact your police department immediately.
